Ingredients
  • 1kg Maseca (6149)
  • 1L cold water
  • 50g Lard
  • Teaspoon salt
Instructions
In a large bowl rub the lard into the maseca (corn flour) and salt till there are no large chunks.

Slowly add water to mix while kneading the whole time, until you get the right consistency dough, ie. not sticky and not dry. The mix should form a round ball.

Use a mixer with a dough hook, run on a low speed, remove manual labour.

For Tortillas:

Pre-heat to a moderate heat, a dry, griddle, frying pan or "Comal" traditional tortilla pan.
